LaLaport BBCC has long been a haven for Malaysian anime fans, having hosted a variety of themed pop-up stores and celebrations over years. Now, it seems like the mall is going all in on otaku culture with its new ACG Base, an expansion that saw not one, not two, but ten new pop culture stores opening across its many floors.
Need help keeping track of all of them? We’ve put together a quick guide to every store now open at LaLaport’s ACG Base:
Animate (L2-15, 16, 17)

Animate is one of Japan’s most iconic anime merchandise chains, and they’ve opened their first full-fledged outlet in Malaysia right here at LaLaport’s ACG Base. Fans can expect a wide selection of merchandise, with everything from acrylic stands to manga, and even Blu-rays and CDs available for purchase.
Animate: The Only Shop (G-47)

The space that used to hold the Animate pop-up store has been turned into Animate: The Only Shop, a spin-off outlet that shines the spotlight on one franchise at a time. The store will feature a different theme every month, with Evangelion being the first on the roster.
Animate Cafe (LG1-13a)

The Animate Café quite literally brings a touch of anime culture to your coffee cup with its unique “Gratte” (graphic latte) feature, which prints anime characters onto the cream topping of your coffee. The café will also feature a rotating series of collaborations, having launched with a Detective Conan theme.
Q Pocket ( L2-32, 33 & 34)

Q Pocket is one of the largest tenants at ACG Base, having three shoplots filled with lifestyle accessories and licensed merchandise – think Labubu, Skullpanda, and collectible Disney figurines. The store also features some unique offerings like character-themed homeware and fashion accessories.
Doko Koko Café (G-20a, G-20b)

If you’re a seasoned anime fan, Doko Koko Café likely needs no introduction for you – but just in case, we’ll give a quick recap for anyone new. Doko Koko Café is the largest themed café in the ACG Base, with a rotating series of themed collaborations that offer limited-edition menus and collectable café goods. The store is currently running a Haikyuu collaboration from now until November.
Doko Koko Pickup (L1-19)

Doko Koko Pickup is an event space that aims to host everything from autograph sessions and fan meetings, to exhibitions and pop-ups, having launched with a Link Click pop-up store that also serves limited-time drinks.
Doko Koko Goods (L2-14)

The retail arm of Doko Koko acts as a merchandise store that sells everything from figures figures to apparel, with merchandise rotating monthly to reflect the hottest fandom trends. We spotted major retailers such as Bilibili Goods, Medialink, and Sunrisepop having a presence on the store shelves.
The Pink Room (L2-44a & L2-44b)

If you’re a Sanrio fan, The Pink Room will be a must-visit for you. The store leans heavily into kawaii culture, with décor and merchandise featuring Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, Kuromi, and more. Expect blind boxes, fashion accessories, apparel, and all things cute and cuddly.
K+ by Kadokawa Gempak Starz (L2-54)

Japanese manga publisher Kadokawa has teamed up with local publishing house Gempak Starz to offer a uniquely Malaysian take on otaku culture. You’ll find translated manga in Bahasa Malaysia alongside original comics by local creators, as well as merchandise of both local and foreign series.
Nullset Goods (L2-43)

Nullset Goods‘ first Malaysian store features officially licensed IP goods crafted with a premium touch, with plush toys, fashion accessories, and collectibles lining the shelves. Expect series such as Dramatical Murder, Alien Stage, Demon Slayer, and more.
