During the September 2026 Nintendo Direct, Bandai Namco Entertainment announced Ondeh Ondeh Kaya’s Tasty Tale, a charming rhythm-puzzle action-adventure created by Malaysian independent developer Metronomik. The game is set to launch in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
In Ondeh Ondeh Kaya’s Tasty Tale, players take on the role of Kaya, who sets off on a heartwarming, coming-of-age journey to become a Worldbuilder, just like her parents. To be certified, one must first pass a test: gather all the Giants across the world, and perform the Renewal Ritual to rejuvenate the flavours of the world.
Armed with her trusty Spoon and the unique powers of the Ondeh, players will help Kaya interact with her surroundings, solve clever puzzles, and overcome eccentric creatures that stand in her way.
Music lies at the heart of Ondeh Ondeh Kaya’s Tasty Tale, seamlessly blending rhythm gameplay with exploration, puzzle solving, and combat. Players must follow the tempo to navigate the world, unlock new paths, and empower Kaya’s abilities, creating a journey where every beat shapes the adventure.
Ondeh Ondeh Kaya’s Tasty Tale is set to release in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam. The game will be available digitally on all platforms, with both physical and digital editions available for Nintendo Switch 2.
