Gamepires’ open-world survival sim SCUM has officially launched its full 1.0 version on Steam, boasting unmatched realism and deeply complex survival mechanics. The game is widely considered to be one of the most ambitious survival sims ever made, being 10 years in the making, and having seen over 250 updates and gameplay improvements.
Play solo or team up with as many as 64 players per server to traverse punishing environments, using strategic planning, resource management and adaptability to survive the game’s open world. You won’t just battle in-game opponents and rival players, but also the island’s brutal weather and wildlife, all while managing your nutrition, body temperature, and stamina.
For those who have played the Early Access edition, the 1.0 update adds a full map rework and major graphical overhaul, providing vastly improved visuals, enhanced performance and more immersive environments. An improved anti-cheat solution also aims to provide a vastly improved gameplay experience for those playing on official servers.
The update will also add new and returning modes of transport, including the Seaplane, Tractor, and Sports Bike, providing a new means of travel and escape from any unwanted encounters. The introduction of armed NPCs also provides a new threat – and possible rewards – to survivors, as new enemy hostiles engage players at range and add extra looting opportunities.
SCUM is available now on Steam for £39.99 GBP / €44.99 EUR / $44.99 USD. More information about SCUM can be found on the official website.
