Sandfall Interactive have teamed up with British jewelry designer Hannah Martin to create “conceptual digital pieces” inspired by the characters of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. The pieces, inspired by Gustave, Lune, Sciel, Maelle and Verso, were first designed by Martin before being modeled in Unreal Engine 5 by the developers at Sandfall.
Martin shared: “This collaboration has been amazing. It is totally new territory for me, and I have loved being able to explore and push the boundaries between reality and unreality. It has been a constant dance between real world and fantasy.” She envisioned each piece to be crafted with 18 carat gold and jet-black obsidian, merging the fantasy game with contemporary art and high fashion.

In addition to the digital pieces, Martin also created 33 real-life necklaces based on her design for Verso, with each piece being hand-crafted in sterling silver. In case you were hoping to snag one for yourself, we’ve got some bad news – these pieces were created as limited-edition gifts for selected community members and artists, and are currently not available for sale.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a turn-based roleplaying game set in a world inspired by Belle Époque France. The game centers on a god-like figure known as the Paintress, who paints a cursed number on her monolith every year, causing all individuals of that age to vanish. Players follow the titular Expedition 33 on a mission to end this cycle by confronting the Paintress before she paints death again.
The game sold over one million copies in just three days, becoming one of the most successful turn-based games in recent years. Sandfall Interactive is also currently working with entertainment studio Story Kitchen to turn Clair Obscur into a live-action movie.
