Japanese Sci-Fi Game Anthology ‘Short Short Fictions’ Launches On Steam

Japanese publisher room6 and indie developer Mitsuyu Suisan have launched Short Short Fictions on Steam, an anthology that connects three short games into a single story. The game includes complete ports of viral hit games DON’T SAY YES and TO:NORTH, as well as a brand new, original game, IMMEMORIAL.

Each included title is a short, memorable story that can be completed in about 30 minutes per play, while the parts that connect each game are also their own unique point-and-click adventure game. From the slightly mysterious to deeply nostalgic, players can expect painful, difficult and beautiful stories.

The game’s demo includes the beginning of the game and its first story, DON’T SAY YES, as well as rearranged and revamped background music that sets it apart from its free version on itch.io. Chapter select and backlog have also been implemented, making the game even easier to play.

Included Stories

  • DON’T SAY YES is a game where you cannot say yes. This is a 5-minute text adventure much loved by the itch.io community.
  • TO: NORTH is an adventure where you cannot go south. This is a traditional top-down adventure that went viral for its story, which syncs seamlessly with its gameplay concept. The Steam release of TO:NORTH marks the first time the game will be available in languages other than Japanese.
  • IMMEMORIAL is a secret new short game created for this collection. Look for it within LOST AND FOUND.
  • LOST AND FOUND is your bridge between stories. This is a point-and-click adventure game that players can enjoy while going from one main game to the next.

InterfaceX26

Short Short Fictions will also participate in InterfaceX26, a Steam event dedicated to games that feature fictional game consoles and computers. More information can be found on the InterfaceX26 official website.
