Medialink Group announced today that the company will be distributing the upcoming Gachiakuta anime series in Asia. Founded in 1994, Medialink Group is a content distribution and licensing group that also handles merchandising and promotion rights for various media properties throughout Asia.
Gachiakuta is a dark fantasy action manga created by manga artist Kei Urana and graffiti artist Hideyoshi Andou, The series is set in a post-apocalyptic world filled with vicious monsters, where the protagonist Rudo has been exiled to after being falsely accused of murder. Rudo will now have to master a new power and team up with a monster-fighting group known as the Cleaners in order to seek vengeance against those who framed him.
The series began serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in February 2022 and won the Global Special Prize in the Print Manga category of the Next Manga Awards 2022. The manga is set to be adapted into an anime in 2025 by Studio Bones, with director Fumihiko Suganuma, lead series compositor Hiroshi Seko and chief animation director Satoshi Ishino on board.
