Chainsaw Man Creator Tatsuki Fujimoto’s One-Shot Manga Gets Anime Film

Chainsaw Man’s creator Tatsuki Fujimoto will be getting an anime film based on his one-shot manga, Look Back. The manga originally debuted on Shounen Jump+ in July 2021, and hit over 2.1 million views on the first day.

Look Back follows the overly confident Fujino and the shut-in Kyomoto couldn’t be more different, but a love of drawing manga brings these two small-town girls together. The one-shot is a poignant story about growing up and moving forward.

The title won the first Rakuten Kobo E-book Awards and was also nominated for an Eisner Award last year. It also won second place at the 15th manga Taisho awards. The film adaptation opens in theatres in Japan on June 28th, 2024.
