Artists Create One Comic Per Hour For Hourly Comic Day

Every February 1st, artists around the globe participate in what is known as Hourly Comic Day. If this is the first time you’ve come across this, don’t worry – you’re not the only one. Although the online challenge has existed since 2006, the tradition hasn’t quite picked up in Malaysia yet. Seeing how fun it is, though, we’re starting to think maybe it’s about time it had!

The concept is simple: Draw a short comic for every hour that you’re awake, for one whole day. Comics don’t have to be limited by form – digital, traditionally drawn, or otherwise are all ok! – and post it up online with the hashtag #HourlyComicDay if you like. Most artists take this opportunity to share snippets of their daily lives with their audience, although others take the chance to go all out with their creativity.

Here’s a compilation of submissions that I personally enjoyed this year!
