The second season of The Ramparts of Ice has unveiled a new promotional video and visual, confirming its October 1 premiere in Japan and worldwide streaming on Netflix. For this new season, Novelbright will perform the opening theme, “Tōmei” (Invisible), while Polkadot Stingray will perform the ending theme, “Sakasama” (Upside Down).
The returning cast includes Anna Nagase as Koyuki Hikawa, Fūka Izumi as Miki Azumi, Shōya Chiba as Minato Amamiya, and Satoshi Inomata as Yota Hino, alongside the wider supporting cast. The second season is directed by Mankyū at Studio KAI, with Yasuhiro Nakanishi handling series composition and Miki Ogino serving as character designer. Kanade Sakuma and Natsumi Tabuchi are composing the music.
Based on Kōcha Agasawa’s manga, the anime follows Koyuki Hikawa, an aloof high school student who struggles to connect with others and keeps an emotional distance from those around her. Her isolated routine begins to change when Minato Amemiya repeatedly reaches out to her, bringing her into the lives of Miki Azumi and Yota Hino.
The first season premiered in Japan on April 2, 2026, with Netflix releasing the series globally on the same day. The original manga was serialized on the LINE Manga app from January 2020 to April 2022 before concluding with its 14th compiled volume in February 2025.
The Ramparts of Ice Season 2 premieres October 1, 2026, streaming worldwide on Netflix.
