Indie Jam Sessions August Edition Discusses The Struggles Of Shipping An Indie Game In Malaysia

This August 16th, the latest edition of Indie Jam Sessions covers the topic of creating a lasting career as an artist in Malaysia. Indie Jam Sessions is a monthly game development workshop and playtesting series presented by THE MAGIC RAIN and Make With Friends.

This month’s workshop will be presented by Lim Shan Fei, director of WhyKnot Studio, a game development studio based in Malaysia that previously made mobile games, and is now shipping their first PC game.

In his talk, “Against All Odds: No One Believed It Would Ship,” Lim Shan Fei will explore the behind-the-scenes of making their debut PC game, Princess of the Water Lilies, and the behind-the-scenes struggles such as nailing down its core mechanics and designing boss fights to releasing the game. It is a story told through the messy, unglamorous reality of shipping an indie game.
