Malaysian-Made ‘Of Blood And Descent’ Wins Gamescom Asia 2025 Pitch Competition

The annual gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show Pitch Competition happened last Friday, where thirteen finalists from across the world pitched their projects live to a panel of industry judges for the chance to walk away with USD 1,500 and international exposure to publishers, investors, and the global gaming community.

The finalists competed across three categories: Best Visual, Best Game Design, and Most Anticipated Game which also includes a partial weightage from audience votes, collected live during the day of the competition.

After a grueling pitch session, the competition wrapped with Kotakoren Games (Malaysia) winning Best Game Design for Of Blood and Descent, a character-driven strategy roguelike inspired by Southeast Asian myths. Forge your bloodline in a cursed land where every death marks a new beginning, and your legacy continues through your descendants.

MVRX Games (Sweden) took home Best Visual for Dew, a 1–2 player co-op adventure platformer set in a stunningly realistic micro-environment. Play as two tiny unlikely heroes, Myric and Dewey, and stop the evil forces spreading a creeping mold that threatens all living things in their world.

Last but not least, Mudtek (USA) earning Most Anticipated Game for Dimraeth, a 1–8 player fantasy RPG set in a handcrafted pixel world. Build your hero across eight races and six classes, explore ancient lands, master elemental combat, forge relationships, and shape a stronghold to call home. Fight for the fate of Dimraeth—together or alone.
