Streamline Studios’ highly anticipated Upin & Ipin Universe has officially received a release date. The game will be made available on PC on Steam and Epic Game Store, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Nintendo Switch, starting this July 17.
First previewed during the Southeast Asian Game Showcase, Upin & Ipin Universe is an open-world adventure game based on Les’ Copaque’s Upin & Ipin animated series. The game describes itself as a nostalgic yet modern take on traditional Southeast Asian life, featuring both story-driven progression and open-ended sandbox gameplay. Players will be able to explore, complete quests, go fishing, farm, race and interact with villagers.
The game supports up to two players, featuring a single-player mode that allows you to control both twins, and local split-screen co-op that lets you team up with a friend. For PC players, the game will also offer PC-focused optimization and graphics settings, allowing them to adjust everything from texture quality to frame rate limits.
“Upin & Ipin Universe marks a new chapter for us — expanding beyond TV, film, and merchandise into a global, interactive experience. As we celebrate Les’ Copaque’s 20th anniversary, this launch reflects our commitment to innovation and creating meaningful moments for families everywhere,”said Haji Burhanuddin Md Radzi, Managing Director of Les’ Copaque Production.
“Upin & Ipin Universe isn’t just a game; it’s a love letter to the vibrant culture and traditions of Southeast Asia,” shared Alexander Fernandez, CEO of Streamline Media Group.“Since opening our doors in Malaysia in 2010, we’ve helped the local industry grow into a thriving ecosystem. Malaysia is now a creative force in animation, game development, and interactive storytelling. Upin & Ipin Universe is proof that Malaysian-born stories resonate not just at home, but everywhere.”
Upin & Ipin Universe is now available to pre-order or wishlist on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Epic Games Store and Steam. Click here for a full list of supported platforms.
