Popular anime content creator Gigguk will be releasing his own anime series this August. Titled Baan – The Boundaries of Adulthood, the series will first premiere in Japan at the Grand Cinema Sunshine, before being released for free on Gigguk’s YouTube channel. The news was first revealed during GeeXPlus Inc.’s panel at the recent Anime Expo in Los Angeles.
Baan – The Boundaries of Adulthood will draw on many of Gigguk’s influences, being an isekai story set in the fictional world of Euthania, which is heavily inspired by Southeast Asian and specifically Thai mythology. The series will be directed by Yoshimitsu Osashi (Code Geass: Roze of the Recapture), with music by Kevin Penkin (Made in Abyss), and animation from Studio Daisy (Tattooine Rhapsody from Star Wars: Visions).

The series will be available in both English and Japanese, with Gigguk’s spouse and fellow content creator Sydsnap voicing the main character, Rin, in English. Rin will be voiced by Haruna Mikawa (Sung Jin-ah from Solo Leveling) in Japanese, opposite Shoya Ishige (Gojo from My Dress-Up Darling) as the male lead Daichi. A behind-the-scenes documentary is also set be released on Gigguk’s channel.
In addition to Baan, GeeXPlus also announced two new original media projects from their roster of creators, including Soul Mart, a webcomic and animated series from Dillon Goo; and Otachan! Rabbit Season, a 90’s-inspired anime series from OtakuVS.
