Sky: Children of the Light is celebrating its 6th anniversary with a special event: the first-ever Sky Creator Awards. Happening at Sky’s in-game cinema from 9AM (GMT+8), August 16, the awards show aims to celebrate outstanding community-created content from players around the world.
During the event, Sky developers from thatgamecompany will present winners across ten creative categories, including two major honors: the Sky Community Award and Content of the Year. Winners will be invited to accept their awards and give live speeches in front of a global in-game audience.
“Sky was always meant to be more than a game; it’s a canvas for human connection and creativity,” said Jenova Chen, co-founder and creative director of thatgamecompany.
“With the first-ever Sky Creator Awards, we’re celebrating the incredible ways our players have taken that vision and made it their own. Their art, their passion, their stories, they don’t just expand the world of Sky, they elevate it. This is our chance to honor the community that continues to inspire us every day.”
Ahead of the awards show, the in-game Aviary Village will be transformed into a festive celebration hub starting July 7, offering players fun activities like swimming, dancing, and parading. As the ceremony draws closer, the Sky Cinema will also host a 24/7 broadcast lineup, featuring exclusive behind-the-scenes developer content, community tributes, trivia segments, and a special six-year retrospective of Sky’s seasonal events and achievements.
On the day of the show, Aviary Village becomes the pre-show stage — featuring live meet-ups, creator spotlights, and surprise performances. An in-game event calendar will be available so players can keep track of showtimes and interactive segments.
