From June 9 through June 22, players of Sky: Children of the Light will have the chance to experience “AURORA: Homecoming,” a breathtaking return of the acclaimed virtual concert by the award-winning artist AURORA.
The in-game event, hosted in the ethereal Coliseum above the clouds, promises a deeply emotional celebration that pushes the boundaries of what virtual concerts can be. For the first time, PC players on Steam will also be able to join the experience, alongside their fellow console and mobile players.
Following the historic 2023 event, which was recognized by Guinness World Records for bringing over 10,000 players together simultaneously in a concert-themed virtual world, this year’s festivities will not only welcome AURORA back into the world of Sky, but also celebrate her real-life return to Norway after a globe-spanning tour.
Players can look forward to a variety of in-game activities throughout the event, including:
- Custom Concert Tickets: Create and share personalized invitations with friends.
- Synchronized Confetti Emotes: Celebrate in unison during emotional moments.
- Community Piano Performances: Join others in playing “Happy Birthday” live in the world.
- Exclusive Interviews: Hear from volunteer leaders building community year-round.
Beloved cosmetic items from past events, including AURORA’s signature wings, will also return to the in-game shop for a limited time. A new “Cure for Me” dance emote will be unlockable by visiting the Coliseum.
Adding to the experience, the volunteer fan group AURORA 2.0 will host a community-wide livestream on June 14, featuring a virtual birthday celebration, live concert watch parties, and community-led content on thatgamecompany’s official Twitch and YouTube channels.
How to Join the Homecoming
All players can access the concert by finding the AURORA spirit in Aviary Village or through the Realm Portals. Performances rotate every two hours starting at 2am PDT daily. Before and after the concert, players can also enjoy mini-games and a meditation space.
