Capcom Unveils Free Title Update 2 For ‘Monster Hunter: Wilds’, Launching June 30

Capcom has officially announced that the Free Title Update 2 for Monster Hunter Wilds will launch on Monday, June 30, 2025, introducing major gameplay enhancements, new monsters, special missions, and collaborations. The reveal came during the Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase segment of the recent Capcom Spotlight digital event.

New Monster Additions

  • Lagiacrus will be made available via an Extra Mission, unlockable at Hunter Rank (HR) 31 or above, and once players to complete the main mission “A World Turned Upside Down” and the side mission “Forest Doshaguma.” Materials gathered from Lagiacrus can be used to craft new gear for both hunters and Palicoes.
  • Seregios will also join the roster in a separate Extra Mission. Available at the same HR requirement, defeating Seregios allows players to craft additional powerful gear.
  • Upon reaching HR 41 and completing both missions, players can encounter Tempered versions of Lagiacrus and Seregios as ★8 field monsters, offering greater challenge and rewards.

Customization & Equipment

  • Layered Weapons: Players can now unlock visual customization for weapons by crafting the final upgrade of each weapon tree.
  • Palico Layered Weapons: New cosmetic options become available by upgrading High-Rank Palico weapons.

Gameplay Updates

  • Handler Switching: Players will now be able to switch between Handlers Alma and Erik after completing the Lagiacrus mission.
  • Support Hunter Mina: A new AI companion who uses a Sword and Shield is now available. Players can also choose their preferred Support Hunter before embarking on quests.
  • Photo Mode: The fan-favourite Photo Mode will also receive updates, including an Effects Tab for brightness and filters, and a Character Display Tab to toggle visibility of Handlers, Palicoes, and more.

New Events

  • Festival of Accord – Flamefete: Running from July 23 to August 6, this seasonal event will transform the Grand Hub with festive decorations and exclusive rewards, including limited-time equipment, gestures, and campsite decorations.
  • Arch-Tempered Uth Duna Event: From July 30 to August 20, players HR 50 and above can challenge the Arch-Tempered Uth Duna in special Event and Challenge Quests. Rewards include the new ‘Uth Duna γ’ armor set and matching Palico gear.
  • Several other limited-time quests offering rare items and materials will also be available during this period.

Fender Collaboration

From August 27 to September 24, players can complete an Event Quest to earn exclusive gestures as part of a collaboration with guitar brand Fender. The game will also feature an exclusive guitar, the Monster Hunter Rathalos Telecaster, which is compatible with the Fender-exclusive gestures.

Free and Paid Downloadable Content

  • Free Content: Four dance gestures will be released as free DLC.
  • Paid Content: Cosmetic DLC Pack 2 and additional enhancements will be available, included for Premium Deluxe and Cosmetic DLC Pass holders.

Future Updates & Platform Perks

  • Free Title Update 3 is scheduled for release in late September 2025.
  • PS5 Dynamic Background: A new background featuring Arkveld in Inclemency will be available starting June 30.
  • Free Trials: Two-hour trials of Monster Hunter Wilds will be available starting June 30 on PlayStation 5 (via PS Plus Premium) and Xbox Series X|S, with progress carrying over to the full game.
