The third season of Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari’s Oshi no Ko will officially premiere in 2026. The news was announced during the “Ichigo Production Fan Appreciation 2025” event last Sunday, together with an ominous teaser video featuring Ruby.
Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and Mengo Yokoyari (Scum’s Wish)’s Oshi no Ko was first serialised in Weekly Young Jump in April 2020. It follows the story of a gynecologist and idol fan Gorou who goes into shock after his favourite idol, Ai, announces an impromptu hiatus. Little does Gorou realise that he’s about to forge a bond with her that defies all common sense.
New cast members were previously confirmed to return for Season 3 including Mamoru Miyano (Light Yagami in Death Note, Rintarou Okabe in Steins;Gate) as Hikaru Kamiki. Hina Kino (Hanako Honda in Asobi Asobase, Miri Unasaka in Buddy Daddies) also joins the cast as the voice of Tsukuyomi.
The manga also inspired a real-life stage play which is currently adapting the 2.5D Stage Play arc which was covered in Season 2 of the anime adaptation.
