The winners of the 9th Indie Game Award 2024, one of the largest awards shows focused on independent games in Asia, was announced at Taipei Game Show 2024 yesterday morning. Winning over 267 entrants from 43 countries, Viewfinder takes home the Grand Prix for its outstanding performance on all fronts of gameplay, mechanics, and artistry.
Developed by Sad Owl Studios, an indie studio based in the UK, Viewfinder is a mind-bending first person puzzle game that challenges your perception of reality. As the player, use your instant camera to reshape the world around you, learn the secrets of the world and the reason why everything exists.
At this year’s Indie Game Award, professionals from various fields including industry experts, relevant academic teachers, game media, and community leaders, were invited as judges. A statement from the judging panel mentioned that there were many high quality games this year which raises the standards for the indie game community.
To further support the developers, Taipei Game Show 2024 also set up a special section on the convention floor dedicated to the Indie Game Award 2024 winners, allowing visitors to try the award-winning titles and experience their unique charms.
