The upcoming My Happy Marriage anime special will premiere on October 25, 2026, with all three episodes airing and streaming on the same day. Alongside the announcement, Kadokawa has revealed a new teaser trailer, a new cast member and the artist behind the special’s ending theme.
The three-episode special will air on TV Tokyo and other Japanese stations from 7:00 p.m. JST on October 25, followed by streaming on Netflix and other services from 8:30 p.m. JST. A newly revealed teaser features the ending theme song “Prelude no Temae ni: ~for me&you~”, performed by Kashitarō Itō.
Returning to the series are Reina Ueda as Miyo and Kaito Ishikawa as Kiyoka Kudo. The special will also introduce a new character, Kimio Nagaba, voiced by M.A.O. The special will once again be produced by Kinema Citrus, with Takehiro Kubota returning as director and series composer. Shōko Yasuda is also returning as character designer, while Evan Call will once again compose the music.
Based on Akumi Agitogi and Tsukiho Tsukioka’s light novel series, My Happy Marriage follows Miyo Saimori, a young woman raised in an abusive household who is married off to Kiyoka Kudo, a military commander feared for his cold personality. What begins as an unhappy arranged marriage gradually develops into a relationship that gives Miyo a chance to discover love, confidence and happiness.
The anime’s first season premiered in July 2023, followed by a second season in January 2025. The series has also received an original anime OVA and a live-action film adaptation.
The three-episode My Happy Marriage special premieres October 25, 2026, with worldwide streaming on Netflix.
