The popular supernatural manga series The Summer Hikaru Died is set to end in two chapters, announced via an update from the series’ official X account. According to the post, Chapter 50 of the series will release on October 13, followed by the final Chapter 51 on October 20.
Created by artist Mokumokuren, The Summer Hikaru Died follows a schoolboy named Yoshiki, whose life is thrown upside down when his best friend Hikaru is replaced by a mysterious otherworldly entity that looks and acts just like him. Yoshiki and Hikaru are then forced to navigate their changed relationship amid supernatural dangers.
The manga was adapted into an anime series by Cygames Pictures, which premiered on Netflix in 2025, starring Chiaki Kobayashi as Yoshiki Tsujinaka and Shuichiro Umeda as Hikaru Indou. A second season of the anime is currently in the works.
