Focus Entertainment and Asobo Studio announced that Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, a prequel to the multi-award-winning A Plague Tale saga, is set for release on August 27, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Offering a new perspective on the world of A Plague Tale, Resonance follows the young and fierce Sophia on her own journey, determined to uncover the secrets of her past. The game’s trailer was exclusively revealed during the recent Xbox Games Showcase.
Resonance is set fifteen years before the events of A Plague Tale, following a young and fierce plunderer, Sophia, as she sets out for the distant shores that have long been calling to her since childhood: the Minotaur’s Island.
Unfortunately, the companions she once tried to escape are never far behind. As she uncovers the truth about her own family’s connection to the island, Sophia can rely on her friend Leni to help her face dangerous enemies and deadly trials. But the Island’s depths remain to be explored, and Sophia is about to encounter a far more unexpected ally, a mythic hero drawn from the oldest legends…

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy launches on August 27, 2026 and is now available for pre-order on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. The game will also be available day one on Xbox Game Pass and supported Xbox Play Anywhere.
