The mysterious statue in the desert finally has an owner. In a surprise teaser trailer premiere at The Game Awards 2025, Larian Studios announced that they are working on Divinity, a brand new game set in the world of Rivellon and the sixth entry in the Divinity franchise.
Larian Studios first introduced the world to Divine Divinity in 2002, but received more mainstream attention following the critically and commercially successful release of Divinity: Original Sin in 2014. Most recently, the studio released Baldur’s Gate 3 in 2023 which won over 200 Game of the Year awards, including the five major trophies from the BAFTA Game Awards, Golden Joysticks, Game Developers Choice, DICE, and The Game Awards.

The studio is currently working on Divinity, which is being described as a brand new game that doesn’t require experience with previous Larian titles. However, those who’ve played Divinity: Original Sin and Divinity: Original Sin 2 will be able to enjoy greater understanding and continuity.
Swen Vincke, founder and game director of Larian Studios, said “Despite our long history with the series, this is our first game entitled ‘Divinity.’ We’re ready to bring everything we’ve done previously into one place. This marks the beginning of something with more breadth, depth, and intimacy than anything we’ve created before. We’ve been building toward this moment ever since we took our fate into our own hands. This is the Divinity we’ve always wanted to make and you’re going to have loads of fun with it.”
