Thai indie developer SQUADX has unveiled MUAY THAI XTREME (MTX), a multiplayer fighting simulation game focused entirely on the techniques and combat style of Muay Thai.
Published by Rising Tide Publishing, MTX is scheduled to launch globally in April 2027, bringing the distinctive strikes, tactics and techniques of Thailand’s national sport into a dedicated fighting game.
MTX Creator Tournament Heads to Bangkok
Ahead of launch, SQUADX and Rising Tide Publishing will host the MTX: STRYK Creator Tournament, featuring fighting game creators and variety streamers from Asia, Europe and North America.
Regional online qualifiers will take place on October 17 and 24, 2026, with finalists advancing to the live championship on October 31 at gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show 2026 in Bangkok.
The final will feature a US$5,000 prize pool, while invited finalists travelling from outside Thailand will receive travel and hotel accommodation.
Creator registration closes on October 1, 2026.
A Muay Thai-Focused Fighting Simulation
Drawing comparisons to combat sports titles such as UFC Undisputed and the Fight Night series, MTX aims to put Muay Thai at the centre of its gameplay rather than combining it with multiple martial arts disciplines.
The game is designed around the range of strikes, tactics and techniques associated with Muay Thai, giving players a dedicated simulation focused on the sport.
The STRYK tournament will also serve as the beginning of a broader competitive programme, with additional tournaments planned around the game’s global launch.
MTX at gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show
The MTX championship will take place inside a 100-square-meter booth featuring a real 5-by-5-meter Muay Thai ring.
Visitors to the event’s public entertainment area will also find playable stations, a main-stage display and live programming throughout the show.
gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show 2026 takes place at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok from October 29 to November 1, with the public entertainment area running from October 30 to November 1.
