‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’ Voice Actress To Star In New K-Pop Film From HYBE America

Paramount Pictures and HYBE America will be teaming up for a currently untitled K-pop movie, starring Ji-young Yoo (Zoey from K-Pop Demon Hunters) and Eric Nam (Aang from the upcoming Avatar: The Legend of Aang). Benson Lee (Seoul Searching, Planet B-Boy) is set to direct.

The movie, written by Eileen Shim, is said to follow a young Korean-American woman who takes part in a K-pop survival show, defying her family’s wishes in the process. It is currently set for a February 12, 2027 release, and is expected to be the first major American studio film to be shot entirely in South Korea.

“This film is my love letter to K-pop — its energy, passion, magic, and the incredible community behind it. I’m deeply grateful to Paramount Pictures for championing the project, to our producers for their unwavering dedication, to our talented and dynamic cast, and to the legends of the genre helping us bring this story to life. This one’s for the dreamers,” Lee shared.

James Shin, the Film/TV president of HYBE America, also said: “We’re thrilled to partner with Paramount Pictures on this historic opportunity to bring this story to audiences worldwide. This film captures the incredible dedication and artistry that defines K-pop and its insatiable popularity, while showcasing the universal themes of chasing your dreams against all odds.”
