Nintendo’s live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda now has two confirmed cast members. Series creator Shigeru Miyamoto took to X to announce the news, sharing that Zelda will be played by Bo Bragason, opposite Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link.
Bo Bragason is a 21-year-old English actress best known for playing Roxy Jackson in the Disney+ period drama Renegade Nell. Her co-star, 17-year-old Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, is a fellow Brit who has also appeared in a number of Disney projects, including the live-action remake of Pinocchio.
In his statement, Miyamoto reiterated that the film is slated for a May 7, 2027 release, and thanked fans for their patience thus far. The film had initially been slated for a March 2027 release, before it was officially delayed earlier this year.
Maze Runner director Wes Ball will head the project, with a script by Jurassic World’s Derek Connolly. Miyamoto will serve as producer, alongside Avi Arad of Arad Productions.
