Aka Akasaka, the manga author behind Oshi no Ko and Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, will be debuting a new series on March 19th, 2025. The news was announced in this year’s 13th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine, with the new series launching in the magazine’s 16th issue later this month.
The new manga is titled Märchen Clown, or Fairy Tale Clown, and centres around a fairy tale story about a prince and a princess guided by fate. Aka Akasaka will be writing the story, teaming up with Aoi Kujira (Geek Circle Crisis) to compose the series’ story, and Ajichika (Record of Ragnarok) to draw the series.
Aka Akasaka’s previous project, Oshi no Ko, recently ended on November 14th, 2024. The series follows the story of a gynecologist and idol fan Gorou who goes into shock after his favourite idol, Ai, announces an impromptu hiatus. The anime adaptation is currently ongoing with a third season set to premiere in 2026.
