Malaysian indie game Froggy Brews has surpassed 26,000 Steam wishlists, gaining international attention despite being developed entirely independently by a small, self-funded team with no publisher or dedicated marketing budget.
Developed as a wholesome narrative adventure, Froggy Brews puts players in the role of a frog running a tea house. Players gather ingredients, serve tea, and meet members of the local community while uncovering the personal stories behind its characters.
From Malaysia to the Global Stage
Froggy Brews was featured in Wholesome Direct, a globally recognised showcase highlighting wholesome and indie games. The team also participated in the Xsolla Developer Scholarship Program at Gamescom in Cologne.
The game was additionally named a Top 10 finalist by Blue Ocean Games, a venture capital fund backed by KRAFTON, and is showcasing this month at gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show in Bangkok.
The developers hope the game’s growing audience can also draw attention to Malaysia’s indie development scene, which they believe remains underrepresented in global conversations around game development.
Froggy Brews is still in development, but you can follow the developers for updates on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter/X.
