Fans of the beloved romantic comedy Maid Sama! have another reason to celebrate, as creator Hiro Fujiwara is set to release a brand-new special chapter of the manga in the September issue of LaLa magazine on July 24.
The announcement was made in the August issue of Hakusensha’s LaLa magazine, marking yet another return to the fan-favorite series. Earlier this year, Fujiwara also published a special Maid Sama! chapter in LaLa DX magazine in February 2025.
Originally serialized in LaLa from 2006 to 2013, Maid Sama! became one of the most popular shoujo manga of its generation. The story follows student council president Misaki Ayuzawa, who secretly works at a maid café while attending a formerly all-boys high school, and her complicated relationship with the charismatic Takumi Usui.
The manga’s popularity led to a 26-episode anime adaptation produced by J.C. Staff in 2010. The anime remains a fan favorite among romance and shoujo audiences, with Sentai Filmworks handling its North American home video release.
