The Fairy Tail series is celebrating its 20th anniversary with Fairy Tail Re:Fantasia, a new limited series that released on July 29 via Weekly Shonen Magazine. Re:Fantasia marks the first new Fairy Tail spin-off to be illustrated by series creator Hiro Mashima since the original series’ conclusion in 2017.
The new series’ launch was accompanied by commemorative illustrations from mangaka across the industry, including names such as Yoshihiro Togashi, creator of HUNTER×HUNTER; George Morikawa, creator of Hajime no Ippo; and Atsuo Ueda, creator of Yamada-Kun and the Seven Witches.
Fairy Tail: ReFantasia is described as an original story featuring Natsu and his companions as they embark on a brand-new adventure. The series was originally scheduled to release on August 5, before its launch was brought forward by one week, as the manga was completed on an earlier date than expected.
