Spanish publisher Entalto Publishing and Italian developer ONE O ONE GAMES have released The Alighieri Circle: Dante’s Bloodline, a first-person psychological mystery thriller that reimagines Dante Alighieri’s The Divine Comedy as a surreal journey through family history, trauma and guilt.
The story-driven adventure is now available on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG, as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game supports 11 languages, with English and Italian voice acting, and launches at €19.50 / US$19.99. A 10% launch discount is available for the first two weeks.

A Descent Into an Internal Hell
The game follows Gabriele Alighieri, a man who has spent his life avoiding his family’s dark legacy. Every 33 years, the barrier between the human world and Hell begins to weaken. To protect his family and prevent the gates from opening, Gabriele must return to his ancestral home and perform an ancient ritual.
His journey takes him between two interconnected realities: the physical Villa and a surreal realm known as the Dive. The Villa represents Gabriele’s physical world and carries the history of the Alighieri bloodline, while the Dive reflects his inner struggles. Its seemingly sterile white environment conceals an underlying world of red, representing the rage and guilt buried within him.
This contrast forms a central mystery of the game: whether Gabriele’s descent is happening in the real world or entirely within his own mind.
Solve Mysteries and Reconstruct the Past
Players must recover lost magical pages of the Divine Comedy and reunite them to complete the Infernal Seal ritual and prevent the gates of Hell from opening.
Along the way, players will:
- Solve esoteric puzzles inspired by The Divine Comedy.
- Explore the atmospheric halls of the Italian manor.
- Enter the distorted depths of the Dive.
- Search environments for hidden collectibles and diary pages.
- Piece together the history of the Alighieri family.
- Recover fragments of Gabriele’s forgotten memories.
- Confront the protagonist’s fears and psychological trauma.
Rather than focusing on conventional horror built around monsters and combat, the developers describe the game as an exploration of internal fear and vulnerability.
A Modern Interpretation of Dante
Creative Director Emanuele Miccianza explains that the team approached Dante’s work less as an action-driven journey through Hell and more as a depiction of an individual’s internal struggle.
The result is a surreal interpretation in which the traditional concept of Hell becomes psychological, with the game’s two contrasting environments reflecting different sides of Gabriele’s experience.
