Toydium has unveiled its brand-new political simulation title, Rules of Residence, inviting players to rewrite the rules of their apartment block and pave their way to a better life—whatever the cost.
The game will be playable at Tokyo Game Show 2026, running from Thursday, September 17 to Monday, September 21. Attendees can visit Booth 05-C05 to try the dictator-esque demo and receive exclusive merchandise.
About Rules of Residence
Rules of Residence is a political simulation game where the player becomes a board member of an apartment building and works alongside residents to rewrite the building’s rules.
After taking out a 35-year mortgage to finally acquire their dream home, a family of three finds themselves in a dictatorial apartment building ruled by the unreasonable tyranny of the building’s chairman. As a new mother, you are unexpectedly elected as one of the board members, and the future of the building rests in your hands.

Key Features
- TRPG-Inspired Resource Management: Balance resources such as residents and money in a weekly turn-based system, solving various challenges while preventing your own physical and mental health from collapsing—as well as the utter collapse of the management.
- Dice-Rolling Events: Strategic decision-making and unpredictable thrills await, depending on the combination of residents’ abilities and motivation.
- Eerie Art and Text Style: Set in an apartment building permeated with an unsettling atmosphere and mystery.
- Control vs. Liberation: Will it be “control” by the chairman or “liberation” by the residents? Relationships with residents and the environment of the apartment building change dynamically, leading the story to a variety of endings.
