The Pokémon Company has announced a new update for Pokémon Champions, introducing Z Mega Evolutions alongside the upcoming Regulation Set M-C.
The new regulation set will begin on September 9, 2026, at 02:00 UTC, and run until December 2, 2026, at 01:59 UTC. It will expand the pool of Pokémon available for competitive battles, adding Rillaboom and Baxcalibur to Pokémon already available under Regulation Sets M-A and M-B.
Regulation Set M-C will also introduce three new Mega Evolutions: Mega Absol Z, Mega Lucario Z, and Mega Garchomp Z. Players can Mega Evolve a Pokémon once per battle when it is holding the appropriate Mega Stone.
Three New Z Mega Evolutions
- Mega Absol Z is a Dark/Ghost-type Disaster Pokémon with the Sharpness Ability, which boosts the power of its slicing moves by 50%.
- Mega Lucario Z is a Fighting/Steel-type Aura Pokémon featuring Aura Guard, a new Ability making its debut in Pokémon Champions. The Ability halves damage taken from contact moves.
- Mega Garchomp Z is a Dragon-type Mach Pokémon with Levitate, making it immune to Ground-type moves as well as battlefield hazards such as Spikes, Toxic Spikes and Sticky Web.
