SEAGS, Playstack To Host Game Dev Pitch Clinic & Showcase Advisory At LEVEL UP KL

The Southeast Asian Games Showcase is partnering with Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Playstack and Ysbryd Games to host a Pitch Clinic & Showcase Advisory session at LEVEL UP KL on October 14, 2026.

The session is designed to help independent game developers strengthen their projects and prepare for potential showcases through direct feedback from experienced games industry professionals.

One-on-One Guidance for Indie Developers

Participating developers will have the opportunity to receive personalised advice covering areas such as:

  • Pitch deck and game feedback through one-on-one sessions with industry advisors
  • Marketing materials and showcase readiness, including an assessment of how prepared their game is for showcasing
  • Marketing strategy, with guidance on aligning upcoming marketing beats with media, showcases and influencers

Applications are open until September 11, 2026, with developers able to apply through the official application form.

Industry Advisors

The Pitch Clinic & Showcase Advisory will feature four advisors from the publishing, investment and games industries:

  • Patrick Johnson — Head of Discovery at Playstack, publisher of BalatroRaccoinAbiotic Factor and Mortal Shell II
  • Brian Kwek — Founder of Ysbryd Games, publisher of DemonSchoolWorld of Horrorand VA-11 HALL-A
  • Samantha Low — Co-founder of the Southeast Asian Games Showcase and Publishing Director at Yotsuba Interactive
  • Arief Johan — Co-founder of the Southeast Asian Games Showcase and Investment Manager at 500 Global

Building on Previous Pitch Clinic

The upcoming Kuala Lumpur session follows the Southeast Asian Games Showcase’s first Pitch Clinic & Showcase Advisory session, held in Singapore in July 2026.

The previous event was organised in partnership with Eliphant, Xbox and Ysbryd Games as part of the Indie Wavemakers Exchange (IWX). Southeast Asian studios received direct one-on-one feedback on their pitch decks through a series of back-to-back sessions with five industry professionals.

The October session at LEVEL UP KL will continue this initiative by providing indie developers with access to industry expertise focused on improving their pitches, marketing and showcase opportunities.
