Original Creatives Return

Ayataka Tanemura, who directed episodes 153–170 of the original Black Clover anime as well as Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, will direct the new season, with Studio Pierrot returning to produce the animation.

The original Black Clover anime premiered in Japan in October 2017 and concluded its initial television run in March 2021 with Episode 170. The series was followed by the 2023 film Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, which was released in Japan and globally on Netflix.

Based on the manga by Yūki Tabata, Black Clover follows Asta, a young boy born without magic in a world where magical ability determines social standing. Despite lacking magical powers, he aims to become the Wizard King alongside his rival and childhood friend Yuno.
