HoYoverse has announced that Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.4, titled In Ravages Does the Whistle Sound, will launch on July 15, bringing a climactic new story chapter, a powerful new version of Himeko, and the second phase of its Fate/Stay Night [Unlimited Blade Works] collaboration.
The update sees the Trailblazer face the Lord Ravager Asat Pramad in a decisive battle as Planarcadia’s future hangs in the balance, while players can also look forward to new playable collaboration characters, limited-time rewards, returning banners and fresh events.
New 5-Star Character
Headlining Version 4.4 is Himeko • Nova, a new 5-star Fire Erudition character who will be available throughout the entire version. Her abilities revolve around deploying a Territory and summoning the mech Starblazer, which assists the team during combat.
Key features include summoning Starblazer at the start of battle, teamwide Assist Skills while her Territory is active, Ultimate attacks where teammates pilot Starblazer together, additional bonuses for Astral Express Crew members, and an exploration Technique allowing players to fly and attack enemies from above while piloting the mech.
Fate/Stay Night Collaboration
The second phase of the Honkai: Star Rail x Fate/Stay Night [Unlimited Blade Works] collaboration begins on July 24 with a brand-new crossover story. The Trailblazer will team up with Rin Tohsaka to investigate the mysterious Imagenae: Holy Grail War, while also recovering Gilgamesh’s lost treasures.
Version 4.4 will add the two iconic Fate characters as playable units:
- Rin Tohsaka: Rin is a 5-star Quantum Erudition character who specialises in using magical gems during combat. Her abilities focus on accumulating Gem Energy, allowing her to unleash multiple additional attacks while gaining increased CRIT DMG whenever teammates consume or recover Skill Points.
- Gilgamesh: Gilgamesh joins as a 5-star Lightning Destruction character. His gameplay centres around building Interest whenever allies take actions, increasing his Energy generation and strengthening his Ultimate. Once fully charged, he unlocks Gate of Babylon, unleashing a barrage of legendary weapons before finishing enemies with Enuma Elish.
Free 5-Star Characters & Light Cone Rewards
From July 24 until before Version 4.6 concludes, players can claim either Gilgamesh or Archer as a free limited 5-star collaboration character, along with a portion of their upgrade materials.
HoYoverse also confirmed that collaboration characters and Light Cones will remain permanently available, with pity counts shared between both collaboration Warp phases. Players who spend 200 Star Rail Special Passes during Version 4.4 can select one of two collaboration-exclusive 5-star Light Cones:
- I Am As You Behold
- The Hell Where Ideals Burn

The update also introduces Sparxie’s new outfit, Candy-Coated Waves; a new pet, Pentaflavor Emoti; the new Trailblaze Fashion Fan-Made Lygus, and additional cosmetic content, alongside general quality-of-life updates.
