Overwatch has finally unveiled Shion, the game’s newest damage hero, and the 52nd hero overall to join the roster. Her appearance was previously teased in the “The Fall of The Sparrow” short story, which was released in conjunction with the on-going YOASOBI collaboration.
Shion is the leader of the Hashimoto clan, who are rivals to the Shimada clan. From a newly released trailer, we know that she is in cahoots with Vendetta and Talon. After much speculation as to whether she’s a cyborg or an Omnic, we now know it’s the latter. She also appears to be wearing an oni mask, though that could also be her actual face.
Shion is shown going akimbo with dual-pistols, facing and holding off against Sojourn in the trailer. She also has a blade she pulls out for close-quarters combat, which may potentially be a bigger part of her kit instead of just a melee. Her cool bike could also be part of her ultimate, which would be pretty funny if true.
Shion will be playable when Season 3 of Overwatch goes live this 16th June 2026. Till then, follows us for more info when her kit is revealed!
