‘Afterglow Bytes: Reverie by the Shore’ Is Cooking Mama Meets Coffee Talk

When the sun sets over 2106 Bali, your small izakaya opens its doors. From dusk to midnight, travelers, locals, and the souls they still yearn for gather under the glow of your lights. You are not just a cook, you’re a bridge between the living and the dead.

Recently featured at Indie Jam 2026, Afterglow Bytes: Reverie by the Shore is the first title from Engram Interactive, a small indie studio based in Bali, Indonesia. With gameplay that feels like Cooking Mama meets Coffee Talk, the game seems to have the perfect recipe for a perfectly cozy time.

Each in-game day, you prepare skewers, pour drinks, and manage supplies to keep your evening haven alive. Listen as patrons share stories that linger in their hearts, and sometimes, through your dishes, they reconnect with those they’ve lost.

The game features an estimated 10-15 hours of playtime and a total of 19 patrons to meet, from a high school student struggling with achieving her dream, to a human-fennec hybrid detective in charge of a case in Sanur, and even a human-dog hybrid waiting for his fiancée from shopping.
