During yesterday’s Nintendo Direct presentation, Capcom announced Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, the latest instalment in the popular Monster Hunter Stories RPG series. The game will launch on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam in 2026.
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection tells the story of two nations, Azuria and Vermeil, on the brink of destruction thanks to a growing crystal encroachment. You play as the heir to Azuria, a fully customizable hero who is the leader of the kingdom’s Rangers and its sole Rathalos Rider. Your quest to investigate the strange phenomena threatening the world will lead you to the forbidden land beyond the northern meridian.
The hero will be joined on their quest by Eleanor, princess of Vermeil. Troubled by the worsening situation, she offers herself as a ‘hostage’ to Azuria in hopes of easing tensions between the two nations. Moved by the efforts of the Rangers, Eleanor and her cherished Monstie Anjanath come along for the ride, seeking to uncover the true intentions of her sister, the Queen of Vermeil.
Of course, no Monster Hunter title would be complete without monsters. Players will be joined by their companion Rathalos, who is one of the twin Skyscale Rathalos prophesized to bring calamity; as well as fearsome enemies like Magnamalo, who stands in the path of our heroes as they travel northward.
