LandShark Games recently unveiled a new demo for their coming-of-age RPG, Grifford Academy, during the recent Indie3 showcase. The development team also announced that the full game will be launching in Early Access on PC via Steam on July 8th, 2025.
LandShark’s “lite academia” RPG promises to whisk players away into the enchanting book realm of Caldria. According to Paul Naylor, Founder of LandShark Games, the goal with Grifford Academy was to streamline the RPG experience, focusing on the most engaging elements without the burden of overly complex systems.
“We wanted to craft an experience that puts character growth front and center, both in terms of the choices and consequences affecting combat, but also the relationships connecting a group of teenagers that start out as classmates, but become something much more.” Naylor explained.
Grifford Academy combines a streamlined turn-based strategy combat system with an ambitious isekai storyline and a rich character growth system. Players will follow the adventures of Erika, Viva, and Cap as typical teenage struggles collide with ancient magic and dark forces within the mystical book realm of Caldria.
The expanded demo dives into the opening hours of the game, featuring a brand-new introduction with never-before-seen cinematics and backstory, giving players their first taste of the fantastical world of Caldria.
