During the recent Wholesome Direct, Wholesome Games Presents and India-based developer imissmyfriends.studio announced Fishbowl, a narrative pixel art game about memories, connection, grief, and self-discovery. A demo is available to play now via Steam.

Rhea Gupte, writer and director of Fishbowl, shared: “We are super excited to partner with Wholesome Games Presents! We want Fishbowl to resonate and make a difference with players everywhere, so it’s very special to be able to collaborate with a team that aligns with our vision. We’ve watched every Wholesome Direct since the beginning and have so much admiration for Wholesome championing indie games like ours.”

Fishbowl is a heartfelt coming-of-age story about a young adult named Alo, who gets her first job in a new city, where she will have to live by herself while grieving her grandma’s death. Told over a month, you will unpack puzzles to rediscover childhood memories, video call loved ones, and work from home while balancing self-care and chores, to figure out life one day at a time.

Gameplay Features

  • Stay in touch with your loved ones and folks at work through video calls. Experience a heartfelt story with branching conversations and diverse characters.
  • Work from home as a video editor for a huge social media star. Edit videos by playing an arcade style matching game and meet colleagues all with different personalities and abilities.
  • Go through your late grandma’s belongings by sorting through puzzles. Uncover objects which reveal childhood memories, each one a storyteller taking you back to your past.
  • Do your best with home chores and self-care or as little as you are able to. Make decisions, uncover the past, figure out life one day at a time.
