The upcoming TV anime Young Ladies Don’t Play Fighting Games has released a new teaser trailer, officially announcing its collaboration with Street Fighter 6. The series is set to premiere sometime later this year.
The anime series is based on a manga of the same name by Eri Ejima. It tells the story of Aya and Shirayui, a pair of students who attend the refined, elegant Kuromi Girls’ Academy. Though their personalities couldn’t be more different, the girls discover a mutual love for fighting games – and although videogames are banned at their school, they set out to enter Japan’s biggest fighting game tournament.
In the original manga, the characters play a generic fighting game named Iron Senpai 4; however, the series’ 2023 live-action adaptation instead saw the characters playing Street Fighter 5, and even featured cameos from real-life Japanese FGC players. The anime adaptation will once again partner with Capcom to feature Street Fighter 6 as the girls’ fighting game of choice.
Street Fighter 6 has been on a hot streak for collaborations lately – the game will be teaming up with Overwatch 2 later this month.
