A new expansion will be coming to the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG), this time one that’s split into two halves. Scarlet & Violet—Black Bolt and Scarlet & Violet—White Flare will be available from July 18 onwards at participating retailers worldwide.
Players can look forward to collecting cards featuring the 156 Pokémon originally discovered in the Unova region. Each Unova Pokémon will also appear as an illustration rare or special illustration rare style card.
Scarlet & Violet—Black Bolt will feature the Legendary Pokémon Zekrom, while Scarlet & Violet—White Flare will feature the Legendary Pokémon Reshiram. Each expansion will include three different parallel foil sets, two of which will feature either a rainbow Poké Ball or Master Ball pattern shimmering across the card.
Players can also collect new cards with features last seen in the Black & White Series, including cards that will feature a nostalgic foil pattern and Basic Energy cards featuring the original Black & White Series designs. The expansion will also introduce Black White rare cards, which feature card illustrations in a monochromatic black or white design.
Ahead of the release of the tabletop version, players will be able to access Scarlet & Violet—Black Bolt and Scarlet & Violet—White Flare digitally via the Pokémon TCG Live app on July 17. Players can collect and battle with new cards featuring Pokémon from the Unova region and receive in-game bonuses when logging in to the app.
