In what is possibly the most Nintendo move ever, the Japanese entertainment company just shadow-dropped our first look at the successor to the Nintendo Switch, the Nintendo Switch 2.
The 2-minute video vaguely covered the functionality of the next generation console, including a larger overall size, a sturdier console stand, and Joy-Cons that connect magnetically instead of sliding into place. The video also confirmed that Nintendo Switch 2 games will be backwards compatible.
Although little else was revealed about the console, including its price, it was confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be available in 2025. Nintendo will also be revealing more information in a Nintendo Direct on April 2nd, 2025.
