THE MAGIC RAIN is excited to present the third edition of Indie Jam, a free-entry Southeast Asian indie games showcase and mini conference dedicated to celebrating and growing the indie game development scene in Malaysia and beyond!
Returning to Xsolla Curine Academy on 26th and 27th April 2025, the annual event is an ongoing initiative to raise awareness for regionally made indie games, and provide more platforms to introduce them to gamers and non-gamers alike. The event has elevated over 50 games in its two year run, and reached more than 3,000 participants each year.
Indie Jam activities begin every year with a Student Game Jam hosted one week before the main event, designed to provide up-and-coming game developers the opportunity to hone their development and pitching skills. Winners are scored based on a mixture of judges and public voting during the main event.
The heart of Indie Jam is the Southeast Asian Indie Games Showcase featuring demos and student work from around the region, plus a Stamp Rally to win freebies and merchandise! Aspiring developers and gaming enthusiasts can also participate in Industry Talks and Panels hosted by local industry veterans, support local artists at the Artist Alley, and network with industry peers on the event floor.
The festivities don’t end after Indie Jam weekend is over! In partnership with SEAGamethetic and The Cham Drinkers, attendees can wishlist games on the Official Steam Page and tune in for After Jam, a series of livestreams hosted by Southeast Asian content creators and spotlighting games showcased at Indie Jam 2025.
