Malaysian indie games studio, Persona Theory Games, has announced a change in its top leadership following recent allegations of sexual harassment and workplace abuse.
The company released an official statement to the press today, stating that they underwent significant changes earlier this year, including the introduction of new management and a renewed focus on fostering a positive, inclusive culture.
The company also declined to comment on specific incidents due to privacy considerations of all parties involved, and stated that the well-being of their employees and the integrity of their company are their top priorities.
“We have taken proactive steps to ensure that our company reflects the standards of professionalism, ethics, and accountability. We are dedicated to fostering a culture that prioritizes transparency and open communication,” the statement continued.
As a transitional step towards rectification, the company has announced that Co-Founder and Managing Director Saqina Latif will be stepping aside temporarily. In her place, Abu Huraira and Ahmad Helmi will assume the role of Acting Co Chief Executive Officers for the foreseeable future.
