Mankibo has revealed Working With Montabi, a new desktop companion game that brings the creatures from its Montabi universe into players’ everyday workspaces. The game is now available to wishlist on Steam.
Unlike Montabi, which focuses on grid-based battles and creature taming, Working With Montabi offers a more relaxed experience designed to keep players company while they work.
Players can use productivity tools including a to-do list, memo and Pomodoro timer, while their avatar types alongside them whenever they press a key. The avatar will also provide gentle encouragement and reminders throughout the day.
Players can place items in their room to attract curious Montabi. Visitors may stop by to play or be petted, and some may leave behind gifts that can be used to customize the player’s avatar and room.
Players can personalize their desktop environment with different outfits, furniture, decorations and accessories. As they discover more Montabi, they can also unlock unique customization rewards, giving them more ways to shape their virtual workspace.
Rain World Crossover Revealed
Mankibo is also collaborating with Montabi publisher Akupara Games as co-publishers for Working With Montabi. As part of the announcement, the developers revealed the game’s first crossover with Rain World, the survival platformer developed by Videocult and published by Akupara Games.
The crossover will bring Slugcat, the iconic protagonist of Rain World, to players’ desktops as one of the companions available in Working With Montabi. Mankibo also teased that this will be the first of several crossover appearances planned for the desktop companion.
Working With Montabi is now available to wishlist on Steam, with further development updates expected ahead of release.
