All The Movie, TV Show & Game Announcements From D23 Expo 2026

The ultimate Disney fan event, D23 Expo 2026, lit up the Honda Center stage with three jam-packed days of announcements and exclusive reveals, featuring beloved brands from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and more.

As Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro put it, “When you add it all up, Disney has something no other brand on Earth can claim. Not just a customer base, not just an audience, but an actual connection. A connection that reaches every single corner of the globe, spans every age and every background, and becomes part of people’s lives and the memories that they carry with them.”

Movies

The New Simpsons Movie Announced For 2027

Fans were treated to an early look at a new Simpsons movie, titled – quite literally – The New Simpsons Movie. Early storyboards showed a sequence of Homer and Bart playing baseball, only for things to go awry in true Simpsons fashion. The film is scheduled for a September 3, 2027 release.

Incredibles 3 Releases June 16, 2028

Pixar showcased new concept art for Incredibles 3, set to be directed by Peter Sohn (Elemental), produced by Academy Award winners Dana Murray (Soul) and Brad Bird (The Incredibles). The new film releases exclusively in theaters on June 16, 2028.

Incredibles 3 will focus on the children of the Parr family as they sneak out at night to fight crime, only to face a threat more powerful than anything they’ve faced before. Meanwhile, Bob Parr struggles to figure out where he fits in a world that seems to have outgrown him.

Coco 2 Announced For November 2029

Miguel, now a teenager, returns to face off against the villain from the first film, resulting in a life-changing return trip to the Land of the Dead.  Coco 2 reunites the team behind the original film, including Academy Award-winning director Lee Unkrich (Toy Story 3) and co-director Adrian Molina (Coco), with Oscar winner Mark Nielsen (Toy Story 4) to produces. The film debuts exclusively in theaters in November 2029.

Brand-New Pixar Film, Ghost Market

Visitors to D23 were treated to a clip from a brand-new film from Pixar, titled Ghost Market. Audiences were introduced to ‘Ono Market, a shop that serves lost spirits stuck between life and death. The living have never set foot in this place… until a fast-talking kid named Kyle blunders in and finds himself on an unexpected supernatural adventure!

Ghost Market is directed by Trevor Jimenez (Weekends) and Jesse Andrews (Hoppers); produced by Academy Award winner Becky Neiman-Cobb (Bao); and is dated for theatrical release in March 2028.

New Look At Pixar’s Gatto

Fans got new story details for Gatto, a new Pixar film releasing on March 5, 2027. Scrappy black cat Nero (Mark Ruffalo) begins to question whether he’s lived the right lives after years of maneuvering the canal-ridden, superstitious city of Venice, Italy. 

Indebted to Rocco (Laurence Fishburne), the ruthless local feline mob boss, Nero finds himself in a quandary and is forced to forge a truly unexpected friendship that may finally lead him to his purpose — unless Venice gets the better of him first. Gatto is directed by Enrico Casarosa and produced by Andrea Warren, the filmmaking team behind Disney and Pixar’s Oscar-nominated feature Luca.

Lilo & Stitch 2 Comes To Theatres May 2028

The live-action Lilo and Stitch returns for a sequel this May 26, 2028, announced via a teaser featuring Angel, a fan-favourite character originally created for the 2006 animated film Leroy and Stitch. 

Lilo & Stitch 2 is scheduled to begin production in Hawaiʻi later this year, with Chris Sanders, the co-creator and director of the original animated Lilo and Stitch, attached to direct. Jonathan Eirich will produce, alongside executive producers Ryan Halperin and Tom Peitzman.

The Bluey Movie Announced For August 2027

The beloved children’s TV series Bluey makes its silver screen debut with The Bluey Movie, a 3D animated film coming to theatres on August 6, 2027. The Bluey Movie is being written and directed by original series creator Joe Brumm, and produced by Ludo Studio in collaboration with BBC Studios, with distribution through Walt Disney Studios. 

Ice Age: Boiling Point Releases February 2027

Ice Age: Boiling Point cast members Queen Latifah and Denis Leary showcased a D23-exclusive clip featuring Scrat, Baby Scrat, and their prehistoric cousin Jurassic Scrat. The upcoming film, which releases on February 5, 2027, is directed by John C. Donkin (The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild), and produced by Lori Forte (Ice Age, Ice Age: Collision Course).

New Look at Tangled Live-Action Remake

Viewers got their first look at the live-action remake of Tangled via a video message from Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim, who play Rapunzel and Flynn Rider respectively. The clip shows off both characters’ costumes, as well as a sneak peek at their on-set shooting location in Spain.

The film is being directed by Michael Gracey (The Greatest Showman), and additionally stars Kathryn Hahn as Mother Gothel, Caitríona Balfe as Queen Arianna; Elliot Cowan as King Frederic; Patrick and Hugo McPherson as the Stabbington twins; and Diego Luna as a new character, Hawthorne. Tangled will open in theaters March 31, 2028.

The X-Men Officially Join The MCU

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige took the stage to officially reveal the cast of the MCU’s X-Men: Sadie Sink as Phoenix, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Maya Boyd as Storm, and Adam Driver as Mister Sinister. This currently untitled X-Men film will be released on May 5, 2028.

Zootopia 3 Officially Confirmed

Zootopia 3 is officially in early development at Disney, though no exact release date has been announced for the film. D23 visitors got to catch a special clip created exclusively for the event, which seems to hint that birds will be a central focus of the new film.

New Disney Animated Film, Clay

Disney’s next original film will be titled Clay, starring Academy Award winner Kieran Culkin as the lead character, Flip. When the rebellious misfit Flip is unwillingly chosen during a yearly ritual to mentor a young, impressionable ball of clay named Mushy, the unlikely duo is swept into a chaotic, funny, and ultimately life-changing adventure.

Clay is directed by Fawn Veerasunthorn (Disney’s Hexed, Lilo & Scratch) and produced by Academy Award winner Peter Del Vecho (Frozen, Frozen 2). Clay releases exclusively in theaters in 2028.

Hexed Adds Two New Cast Members

New cast members were announced Disney’s upcoming coming-of-age film Hexed, which releases later this year on November 25, 2026. Walton Goggins plays Beef Roger Crummchuk, a magical three-eyed cat who forges an uneasy alliance with protagonist Billie Doe (Hailee Steinfeld) and her mother Alice (Rashida Jones); while Jodie Foster plays Queen Celeste, a sinister figure who will stop at nothing to maintain her power.

New Story Details Revealed for Frozen 3

The Frozen franchise returns on November 24, 2027 with Frozen 3, a new film which sees Elsa, Anna and their friends facing off against a villainess whose powers rival even Elsa’s. Fans also got to hear two new songs from the film: Kristen Bell (Anna) and Idina Menzel (Elsa) performed a new, darker version of “Frozen Heart”, while Josh Gad (Olaf) performed “Ooooh, Samantha”, a new love song for Olaf’s first crush.

Star Wars: Starfighter Gets New Plot Details

Director Shawn Levy and actor Ryan Gosling introduced new details for Star Wars: Starfighter, opening in theaters on May 28, 2027. Gosling plays Kade Auberon, a character who he described as “a guy from the wrong side of the galaxy, whose fate is intertwined with the fastest starfighter ever built”. Levy cited American car culture as his main inspiration for the film, alongside movies like The Outsiders and American Graffiti.

TV Shows

Percy Jackson and the Olympians Returns For Season 3

A new trailer for Season 3 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians was screened at D23, in a segment featuring guests Walker Scobell (Percy Jackson), Ming-Na Wen (Hera) and Andra Day (Athena). Fans got to catch a glimpse of Percy’s relentless quest to find Annabeth, the mounting tension with the Titans, and a first glimpse at new characters, ahead of the new season’s release this November 20, 2026.

New Live-Action Animation Hybrid Series, Oswald

Before Mickey Mouse, there was Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, one of the first cartoon characters ever created by Walt Disney, all the way back in 1927. Now, Oswald is making a comeback with his own TV series, premiering on Disney+ on February 17, 2027.

When an earthquake releases Oswald, who has been hidden away since the 1920s, a middle school boy and his friends try to help the cartoon rabbit navigate his way through the modern world. The series stars Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Mykal-Michelle Harris, Ryder Allen, Al Madrigal, Kathryn Hahn and Albert Brooks, directed by Jon Favreau, Jude Weng, and Andrew R. Jones,.

VisionQuest Premieres on Disney+ This October

Fans were shown a new trailer for VisionQuest, an original TV series coming exclusively to Disney+ this October 14, 2026. The show picks up where WandaVision and Agatha All Along left off, following Vision as he attempts to evade capture from a bounty placed on his head, while also trying to unravel the mystery of Thomas Shepard, a mysterious boy who may be Vision’s reincarnated son.

Ahsoka Season 2 Showcases New Teaser Trailer

A brand-new teaser trailer set the stage for Ahsoka Season 2, premiering on Disney+ on January 20, 2027. Season 2 continues the story of Ahsoka Tano as she and her Jedi apprentice Sabine Wren travel across a mysterious world to find their way home, while their friends Hera, Ezra, Zeb, and Chopper must face the powerful Grand Admiral Thrawn and his sinister allies, who seek to plunge the New Republic into war.

Kingdom Hearts IV & New Kingdom Hearts Anime In The Works

Disney & Pixar Games and Square Enix showed off new details for the long-awaited Kingdom Hearts IV, including the reveal of a new Coco world for the upcoming game. It was also announced that an original Kingdom Hearts anime series is being developed for Disney+, produced in collaboration with Tetsuya Nomura and the Square Enix creative team.

Marvel’s Wolverine Releases on PS5 this September

Insomniac Games, in collaboration with Marvel Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment, unveiled a new trailer from the upcoming Marvel’s Wolverine, which sees everyone’s favourite Canadian superhero searching for answers about his past. The game releases exclusively on PlayStation 5 this September 15th.
