Kadokawa announced on Monday that the anime film SHIBOYUGI: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table 44: CLOUDY BEACH will be available on multiple streaming platforms across Asia, while Netflix will stream the film worldwide. The movie is scheduled for a limited two-week theatrical run in Japan beginning July 10 before expanding to streaming services.
The film continues the story after protagonist Yuuki successfully survives the infamous “thirty-game jinx,” the point at which long-time death game survivors face dramatically declining survival rates. This time, Yuuki joins seven other participants on a remote island in the middle of the ocean, where they face their latest deadly challenge, “Cloudy Beach.”
The film reunites the main creative team from the television anime adaptation of Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table, including director Sōta Ueno (Days With My Stepsister), character desiger Eri Osada (Blade & Soul), series compositor Rintarou Ikeda (The Seven Deadly Sins: Dragon’s Judgement) and sound director Noriyoshi Konuma (The Dangers in My Heart). Animation is provided by Studio Deen.
