Fans of Komi Can’t Communicate have something new to look forward to as creator Tomohito Oda is releasing a brand-new chapter of the beloved manga.
Announced via the series’ official X account, the special chapter will appear in the 29th issue of Weekly Shonen Sunday and will focus on Komi and Tadano’s college life. It marks the manga’s first new update since the series concluded in January 2025.
Originally launched as a one-shot in 2015 before beginning full serialization in 2016, Komi Can’t Communicate followed the story of the socially anxious Shoko Komi and her classmate Hitohito Tadano as they navigated high school life and Komi’s goal of making 100 friends. The manga officially wrapped up with its 37th and final volume in March 2025.
The series also inspired a successful anime adaptation, with its first season premiering in 2021 and a second season following in 2022. The franchise also received a live-action television adaptation that aired in 2021.
