This year’s summer of games comes to an end with a blazing finish, as Nintendo wraps up the long list of showcases with a brand-new Nintendo Direct. From content updates for Pokopia and Donkey Kong Bananza, to surprise reveals from Deltarune and Kingdom Hearts, here are the biggest announcements from the latest Nintendo Direct!

Pokémon Pokopia introduces paid Expansion Pass DLC this August 2026

Pokémon Pokopia announces its first paid Expansion Pass DLC planned for release this August. Enjoy an underwater town, with new Pokémon to encounter, furniture, and outfits for Ditto. A free update is also coming to Pokémon Pokopia this August that adds a new move: Dive. With Dive, you’ll be able to explore the world on the ocean floor and enjoy a life with Pokémon living under the sea.

Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave set to release on September 17, 2026

Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave comes exclusively to Nintendo Switch 2 on September 17, 2026. In the capital of the Dagdan Empire, powerful fighters gather to participate in the Heroic Games, where the winner is granted one wish. Hone your techniques at the training grounds, recruit new allies, or travel beyond Dagsion’s walls to gain experience. How you spend your free time is up to you.

Donkey Kong Bananza gets Super Mario collaboration event in paid DLC

In the Donkey Kong Bananza: DK Island & Emerald Rush paid DLC, a limited-time collaboration with Super Mario Bros will be available. This limited-time collaboration event will be held in four waves with the first wave beginning later today. The other waves begin on July 14th, August 4th, and August 25th respectively.

Xenoblade Genesis is a new entry into the franchise, coming 2027

Xenoblade Genesis, a new beginning for the series, is coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. The digital version of Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, and its upgrade pack, are also available today with a physical version arriving on July 30, 2026.

Star Fox launches June 25, 2026

A battle for the fate of the galaxy begins! Blast off for adventure across the Lylat System with Fox McCloud and his crew in a free demo that includes a tutorial and one of the game’s opening stages. Star Fox launches officially on Nintendo Switch 2 on June 25, 2026.

The Duskbloods closed network test begins this Summer 2026

FromSoftware’s The Duskbloods launches exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026, with a closed network test coming soon. Step into this new PvPvE multiplayer action game from FromSoftware, where you take on the role of a Bloodsworn.

Splatoon Raiders launches July 23, 2026

Kingdom Hearts 4 set to launch on Nintendo Switch 2

Kingdom Hearts IV finally broke its years-long silence to share a new trailer in the latest Nintendo Direct. The Direct confirmed that the game will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and will be available day and date at launch. The Kingdom Hearts Collection (I-III) is also coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 8, 2026.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake releases in 2026

Closing out the showcase, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will be reborn on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. No other details have been revealed yet.
